About Me

Hello!

My name is Sean McClure.

While many of my peers finished college, started families, found good jobs, and bought homes, I was spending my time experiencing life in Austin and forging my own path. If I was not working or playing shows downtown I could be found swimming at Campbell’s Hole, cruising Westlake Drive, hiking Mt. Bonnell, volunteering for SXSW, or grabbing tacos with friends at El Arroyo. I was not born within the Austin city limits, but it has been my literal home for almost half of my life -- and my figurative home as far back as I can remember.

I have a cuddle-bug-of-a-dog named Geordi (named after Geordi LaForge from Star Trek TNG -- see picture below). Much like me, he loves meeting new people and likes to greet everyone he sees. If you see us walking around, please come say hi. We would both like to meet you!

Geordi is a 17lb Terrier Mix. No one knows what he's a mix of, but he sure is cute, cuddly, and playful.

I also like to be involved in my community, so please let me know if there is anything that I can help with. My background is in tech, music performance, audio/video production, and project management and I am happy to offer any services I can provide!

A little about me:

I grew up 75 miles Northwest of Austin in the small town of Lampasas, TX. We would visit family in Austin and I loved it so much I decided to move here when I was just a child -- and made it happen shortly after high school. Like many I showed up in town with a guitar in my hand and not much of a plan after that. Since then I feel like I have lived three lifetimes.

In almost 20 years I had gone from a struggling Austin Community College student/delivery driver-turned-manager who just wanted to play music and party with his friends; to a family man building a career in the tech industry while struggling with alcoholism and addiction; to where I am now: a man who is active in the recovery community, has cleaned up much of the wreckage of his past, and is living a life of integrity and authenticity.
